UnGovr is a public map of government — who represents you, what they are responsible for, and how to reach them. We bring 320,000+ government bodies across 200+ countries into one place, so anyone can see, search, and hold them to account.
What’s here
UnGovr is a family of free, public tools. Browsing and reading are open to everyone — no account needed.
Finding your way around
Every UnGovr page shares the same header. Here is what each piece does — look up at the top of this page to find them.
The top bar
The UnGovr monogram at the top-left always takes you back to the Atlas. As you drill into a place, breadcrumbs show exactly where you are and let you step back up.
The waffle (app switcher)
When you are signed in, the grid icon at the top-right opens the app switcher — one click to jump between the Atlas, Request, Law, the oversight sites, and more.
Your account menu
Once signed in, your initial appears in the top-right corner. It opens your account: settings, the things you follow, and sign out. Signed out, you will see a Sign In button here instead.
Search
Search is on every page. Type any place, agency, or official — like “Dublin”, “California”, or “Department of Finance” — to jump straight there.
Accounts
Reading the Atlas, the law guides, and grand jury reports is free and open — no account, ever. An account only comes in when you do something that needs to remember you, and you’ll be invited right where that happens. Here’s what it adds when you’re ready:
When the time comes — for example, submitting a request in UnGovr Request that you want to track — creating an account takes a moment. UnGovr is verified, not anonymous: accounts are tied to a real, verified identity so that requests and the responses to them stay accountable. We never sell your data.
