things like that. Good morning everyone and welcome to this special meeting of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors of October 30th, 2012. Mr. Allen would you call the roll please?
Mr. Lavagnino? Here. Mr. Carbajal? Here Ms. Wolfe?
Here
Ms. Gray?
Here
And Ms. Farr?
Here Thank you, would you all
All right, now we'll go to public comment. Do we have any speakers from the public? We have one request to speak from David Daniel Diaz.
Is this speaker here? It's on. Thank you very much. Okay, first of all over at Chihuahua the Hammond Cemetery site for us Chumash people, the only one on the federal register since the cultivating and Breakage of the leak of the water pipe that was buried underground there and 10,000 gallons of water approximately wasted into the ocean. And we found relatives' skulls.
I've been monitoring continuously and we found that there were people... Well, I ran across one person who was digging with his hands into the cultivated dirt at the cemetery site looking for artifacts. And I told him to get back on the path and go to the beach or get out of the area I was later informed that I can go ahead and call the sheriffs and get them taken away. But I hope we can resolve some of these issues that resulted as a result of the county employee tilling the earth over, which was totally inappropriate and uncalled for. Secondly, people wanted me to have some clarity on the last time I was here speaking about Abel Maldonado.
The commercials he's using are claiming the outsourcing of jobs to China. Well, it turns out the major portion of those businesses that are outsourcing apparently are contributing to the Republican PACs that are denouncing and belittling Lois Capps and I find that quite amazing because I think the Chinese are trying to figure out how they can go ahead and do what Abel Maldonado did. Have a government job, have a farm, and also allow his workers to get green cards very quickly without any problems. And to this day, his office still has not gotten back to me on how many of his employees in all of his businesses Voting American citizens. Do we really need somebody like that to tell us what to do? It's sort of like the guy Romney who wants to be president, he is very evasive on still so many subjects.
So hopefully we can work it out and get the honest people to take care of our country. Thank you very much.
Thank you, Mr. Diaz and that is our only public speaker so we'll go ahead and turn to Council. Mr. Marshall, do you want to tell us what's on our closed session agenda today?
