Ojai City Council Special Meeting

Closed Session

• City Manager Montgomery reported that the Council interviewed two city attorney firms.
• Council members directed staff to contact Alice Shire and Winder to move forward.
• A contract for the appointment will be presented for review and approval at a future meeting.

• The City of Ojai held a special council meeting on Tuesday, November 4th. Roll call confirmed the attendance of Mayor Gilman, Mayor Pro Tem Lang, and Council Members Rule, Whitman, and May. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, a motion to approve the agenda was made and seconded. No objections were raised, and the agenda was approved.
• During the public comment period, Larry Steingold addressed the council. He commented on the appointment of a new city attorney and Brown Act compliance. Mr. Steingold requested that the recording of closed session meetings be placed on an agenda for discussion and a vote. A council member asked for clarification regarding the request, which Mr. Steingold confirmed was to include the item on the agenda.
• The Mayor noted that the agenda included items related to public employment and government code sections. The meeting was then adjourned to a closed session.
